Acer palmatum 'Skeeter's Broom'

I rescued this sickly looking maple from homebase today - ive never had a maple so i hope i can bring it back to full health

Also i brought a 37cm pot for it, is that going to be big enough for a year or two?

Should be, but no longer than a couple of years then pot up to next size pot if keeping in a pot 😉

Thank you @carolgs yeah it will be staying in a pot as ive got a yard ... It's all concrete but I'm making it more like Eden every day lol so what size should i finally pot it into?

When I spoke to an acer grower they said only put in the next size up and not to over pot but eventually as big a you can afford @kittenypaws

Cool thank you @carolgs thats a big help i don't suppose you asked your acer grower how and if you need to prune and fertilise?

No sorry but I would Prune to shape and use a tree and shrub type compost or I tend to mix multi purpose with top soil to give it and bit of weight and give blood fish and bone spring and late summer @kittenypaws

#sickplant can some one help me my maple has lost all its leaves is this normal for this time of year?
