Clematis 'Jan Pawel II' syn. Clematis 'John Paul II', Clematis 'Jan Pavel II'

This year's clematis was sadly almost completely covered over summer by my triffid sweetpeas but when I've cut them back, it was still there striving! Its trying so hard to open this flower and buds but the weather is soooo cold and windy!! Should I be doing anything specific to look after it please?? It's growing up an obelisk atm. Thank you! K

I put a good thick mulch around the base of mine to keep the worst of the winter off it 👍🏻

@ukgardentags ..Just an F.Y.I: This plant variety is actually called 'John Paul II' (as in Pope..) but the encyclopaedia says ' Jan Pawel'...lolz!! Xx
