She’s not looking her best and it’s a little dark out. But here’s with and without flash. I’d say yours looks pretty darn similar. Especially when mine has it’s pretty tips (it’s been in shade mostly so it doesn’t have them anymore 😰) @cyndi

#Echeveria #morningbeauty lighter for scale. I also think it accents the pretty pink tips on the beauty 😍

Does it have a root system already?

7w

laskyhigh

Yes, which is why I decided to plant it on its own. I was shocked to find that it was living in the shadows of the mama—the mother plants leaves covered it almost entirely. I know they grow towards light, but I honestly was unsure how it found any at all @Yollymac

Would have got all it needed from it’s mama. 💝

You think so? It wasn’t attached. I think it was just a fallen leaf that propagated in mama’s pot, but maybe you’re right! I’m learning so much

I do know I should add perlite or something for drainage to the soil but I don’t want to mess with it too much cause the baby is soooo small

7w

I don’t add any draining agent to my soil and just use premium soil. How often have you been watering it? How much sun. It doesn’t look healthy.

@Yollymac I’m not currently using the best soil, so I probably need to get something better. I’ve been looking into it. What would you suggest? I water it probably once a week, when the leaves look wrinkled. It gets morning sun with the rest of my plants on an east facing porch outside. Shaded after 1pm. However, the thought did cross my mind earlier that it could be getting too much light for how small it is. I’m really not too sure, but I do agree that it looks unhealthy and sad ☹️

@KelsiBriana - can you please suggest a good premium soil product in the USA (I am in Australia). I think this one can do with a splash of water (twice a week) and also maybe some plant food. I would bottom water it. Put your plant with its planter in a bucket of water so it soaked up from the bottom. Get it out of direct sun and into filtered sun (under shadecloth), as I think it’s losing more water than it’s taking up. Let’s see how it goes after that. Kelsi May have more to add also?

I will find it a new home with filtered light when I get back to my house this evening. Thanks for the suggestions. Hopefully @KelsiBriana can also suggest a good plant food 😊 I’ll try the bottom watering, I’ve had good success doing this with a couple other plants that aren’t succulents. I dunno why I didn’t think to do it with this. Or even the rest of my plants LOL. I’ll post an update in a week or so, so we can see if/how it improves. Thanks again!

It’s in MG cactus soil, but just plain out of the bag. I’ll add some perlite and see how that goes! Thank you!

Let us know how you go. Often we have to just tweak and tweak a plant until it works. 🤗
