99% of the time, when I buy a new plant, I remove it from its old soil, assess its health, and then replant accordingly. However this one was potted up so nicely, I never bothered, despite knowing it didn’t have drainage. It’s been almost a month. Maybe more, idk. Well today, I decided to drill a couple of drainage holes, so I pulled Mr. Haworthia out of his home. He had such a spectacular root system. I was shocked actually. He’s doing so well! And now he has drainage so he won’t drown 😅
Beautiful Shot

This guy has been a hell of a challenge since I got him. I didn’t take a picture, but I was wondering why he stopped improving. Turns out some of his roots had died and were on the verge of rot. I cleaned away what looked bad and kept the one good looking root. He’s drying out for now, and will get repotted in a couple of days.
Was this the office plant? Do you think it wasn't drying fast enough?
@JDWolverine it was the office plant. I brought it home because I didn’t think t was doing well. It started improving, then declined so I checked it out today and discovered this. definitely was not drying fast enough. It was also in a small pot so I’m going to give it a pot with more room when I do replant it

This guy got a mostly inorganic mix too. Hopefully he’ll start looking better. I know this pot sucks, I need to get a new one. But it’s all I had with drainage for now. #haworthia #haworthia-fasciata #inorganic #succulent

Picked up this beauty yesterday. I love this little pot! It doesn’t have drainage. The lady I bought him from told me Mr. Haworthia was doing just fine without a drainage hole, and got a little offended when I said I might drill one. 🤷🏼♀️ I still might lol
