Gardening on a small plot with an oak tree in one corner and trying to encourage more wildlife. Love visiting gardens and buying plants too!

Since I've discovered them I make sure I buy a new pack each year so they definitely flower. They are such a welcome sight at the end of winter.

Thanks Urszula, I was wondering if they came back! Will definitely add them to my list in the Autumn. @ublaszko

They often do but not reliably. It depends on what summer we get this year. In my garden they seem to do ok for the first two years and after that the bulbs split to too many small bulblets and I tend to replace them. You can grow the bulblets on but it would take 2-3 years for them to get big enough and they're so cheap I don't bother. I would only do it if I bought a special cultivar .

If you decide to keep them you will need to feed them after flowering. I tend to use slow release organic fertiliser because that's what I have. I know Richard has a special feeding regime for miniature irises so might be worth to get his advice. @richard.spicer.7906

Thanks John, I love them, they're in a sheltered spot on the patio so luckily didn't get damaged by the cold and wet a few weeks ago! @ukjohnny
