One of my dormant Sempervivums that managed to survive a massive scale infestation😣 I'm hoping it will recover soon🙏 #sempervivum #succulent #succulents #sempervivums #dormancy #recovery #scale
It looks pretty good for having gone through a massive scale infestation. What did you use to treat it? I always have to keep a close eye on my strawberry begonia, staghorn fern, and certain orchids.
@cpl721 As much as I hate using alcohol on my plants, I made a little mixture of alcohol diluted in water to treat it as well as trying to hand remover them. I've lost so many succulents to scales, they are one of the worst pests to deal with.
@heatherdirtyhands Ive dealt with all indoor pests (spider mites are the worst!!), And you are very lucky to have not had to deal with them😅 How long have you been growing houseplants?
@littlemorningglory I always try to remove them, but if I continue to see them I use Bonide Systemic, if the leaves can’t get wetIf it’s a really bad problem I spray with seven insecticide. Hate using this, but some of my plants are very old, so I do whatever it takes.

What the hell is a scale?
@heatherdirtyhands Scale are little white or brown bugs with a waxy exterior that suck the sap out of plants. Terrible little things😣
Ughhhhh @littlemorningglory so gross. I haven't had much of a pest problem other than gnats which make me crazyyyy
