#firstharvest of my #scarletrunnerbeans ever! I opened up a pod on a whim. I may just #seedsave or I might toss some in some soup in the fall.

I've seen #hummingbird s here 3 times now. But no pictures, sorry! My Cats are now sequestered indoors.

I used a little chemical Fertilizer on them and it rained all week, which has helped quite a bit.

Looks like leaf cutters. Check under leaves and around the stems for a very small light green catapillar and pick him off.

What is your opinion on the self-watering bottle? How many days does it last for between fill ups?

these are 12oz bottles so they don't last long, but 2L fit as well. I have concerns with these cinder blocks with grass growing in them so I opted for very targeted watering.

I can't wait for these to bloom! I hear humming birds love them! #scarlettrunnerbeans

This is amazing, fantastic idea, did you cone up with it yourself? Tge cinder blocks. Fantastic and watering combo. How does the watering work? They take what they need?

@jamescalli each bittle has a plastic spike where the cap screws on, so you can just stick it in the dirt and it drains out. I pop a little hole in the bittle with a thumbtack so it will drain. I mostly use it if Im away for a weekend.
