Suffering horribly from strawberry envy! My former colleague at school sent me this picture of the strawberries she picked from the greenhouse this morning!

Oh that's cruel !!! But at least they are not going to waste.

Boo so having been away for the week leaving my garden in the hands of beloved who wouldn’t know a rose from a dandelion, I came back to find that the birds got bored with the mahonia berries and ate the strawberries I was looking forward to! Netting applied and fingers crossed now!

The same is happening to mine. ☹☹☹

Breakfast! Fresh from the school greenhouse!

I’m leaving my job as a school science technician at the end of this week to return to the “real world”. I’ll certainly miss the garden but I had to bring a couple of strawberry plants home! Planted 6 of these last year and collected runners. Overwintered in the greenhouse and they are seriously the BEST strawberries I have ever eaten!

@charlotte I’m returning to the chemical industry but sadly having to do a weekly commute to Cambridge. Not much work in deepest darkest Dorset but it’s a lovely place to live. Don’t feel up to moving house since we’ve been here almost 20 years
