Been gardening for a good number of years now. Love the cottage garden look and growing lots of herbs. Huge fan of companion gardening.

Just sharing this with gt'ers. I cut half of my purple sage back very hard a few weeks ago and here's new growth on it already! I do this every few years and it has always looked lovely.

Thanks for that was just contemplating what to do with mine as it has gone a little woody looking. Tomorrow's job 😊

#herbs #purple-sage I just love the way this spills over the border. It gets hacked back a fair bit every year but I'm pretty sure I planted it not long after we moved in to this house 17 years ago. The tips get pinched back regularly for cooking! I like to tuck a few leaves into a joint of pork for roasting

How much / how often do you hack it back @LLW? Ivy some which initially blanketed out nicely, but now is starting to look a bit leggy and gappy in places. Thought of cutting it back to get it to dense up again, but didn’t want to decimate it 🤔
