I'm an enthusiastic beginner. Not much knowledge, but lots of joy when things grow!

Thank you for the welcome! I've just moved and have this tall shrub in my garden. I wasn't certain what it was or how to prune it. 😃

Not sure what it is, but if its overgrown now is a good time to prune most shrubs

Thanks for all your comments. I wondered whether it was a dogwood. It's evergreen though because it was like that at the end of January.

It is a variegated Prunus Lusitanica Lisa leave any pruning until later in the season as with most evergreens, and all Prunus, always best to ID a plant before taking up the secateurs as many shrubs are about to flower and you could cut them all off for this year, you will find lots of lovely people on here to help .. a huge welcome to you Lisa 🙂

I was tempted to prune because it's growing up outside my kitchen window and I didn't want it to take over. But I can leave it until later in the season. Thanks for your advice and the lovely welcome from everyone.
