I'm new to gardening but have a very basic knowledge. I moved house a year ago and went from a tiny garden to a big garden. Can't wait to learn

Can anyone advise. My new clematis got damaged when I moved it to paint the fence. It has about 4 small bends like the one in the pic. Do I leave it or do I cut it at the first bend?

Is this the right way to start my clematis?

You could weave it from side to side rather than straight up 👍
