Is there a difference between mandarins and tangerines 🍊? The two are sold as different fruits here. Tangerines are dearer🤷🏼‍♀️

@Sussanah they are all in the same family of mandarins. Some are sweeter than others, easier to peel, seeded or not, some are a bit tart and some are juicer than other varieties. Mine are seeded, super sweet, easy to peel and juicy. ♥️

It is @Soph1e. I too did not use it until rather recently. I moved into a huge ant area at our house 24 years ago and with I knew about it back then. 😎

A #California state inspector came by and checked, tagged and took leaf samples of all my #citrus trees. Our county has been under quarantine from the Asain Citrus Psyllid, a #pest that infects the tree with #Haunglongbing or #citrusgreeningdisease. It does not effect the fruit for consumption, but ultimately kills the tree. He did not see any, but they do have #whitefly, #leafminer and #magnesium deficiency. Time for #diatomaceousearth, #ladybugs and a new #fertilizer. He was quite helpful.

Yikes, that sounds serious! Did you have to request an inspection or are they visiting everyone with citrus trees?

6w
comment
lovestogarden

Yes, @mich, I sure am. @Soph1e, he was going through checking trees he could see and I asked if he could also check in the back. Strangely, some people get upset with him and are not compliant. This is really stupid as , just economically, this has the potential to bust our county/state as commercial lemons bring in $269 million a year.
