Amazing! This is the center of the #stump the day after I cut it down. It is a #Euphorbia candelabrem. Last month's trip to the #succulentsociety the talk was given by R. Ray, titled Nature's Geometry. He showed the intelligent design of the #Fibonacci sequence of numbers to look at the shape of plants, the number of plant ribs, the number of spines in areoles, golden angles, .... It was so interesting. #fibonaccisequence = 0,1,1, 2, 3, 5, 8, 13, 21, 34, 55..... #amazingnature #candelabracactus

Today's project begins the removal of this giant #Euphorbia trigona. I noticed this week the walkway at its base has cracked and is raising dangerously. It is #HUGE ! The top of the #cactus is as tall as the peak of my single story home. I will put a bunch out for people to take. It will take a lot of time to remove it all. #euphorbia-trigona #southerncalifornia 30 September 2022

Katy, I have multiples of this, so I am not going save anymore. I have to take a hatchet to the branches slowly, as the weight of them is high. I will be laying out a bunch for free takers and the smaller or damaged pieces will be put in my yard-waste barrel over time. The thorns just destroy me and it is next to a wooden fence I want not to damage. It will be a long job. @gjones

Yes, I live North of LA. I would gladly bring them south and meet up or let him come and pick up. It is a huge job for me and not all of them will be taken I suspect. @lesliecole49 @honestgreensco

Future home of my newest Rose bush. This #cactus #Euphorbia trigona got too much water this past Winter and the roots died. Top was still alive and top heavy. Dangerous to keep. I have this plant elsewhere, so no need to keep. #progress 19 June 2019

@eklinke1983 - The cactus was about ten feet tall with the weight all at the top. The bottom was dead. One plant had already fallen over. If you scroll over, you can see the hole plant.

@kimguy this is the whole beast. I planted it in 2012 under this window after two friends of my son thought it would be funny to break in through this window and decorate his bedroom. I was pretty miffed and thought thorns would deter them in the future. Well, this is what is left of my last #Euphorbia candelabra. It was so huge, the roots were lifting my sidewalk. 💪I had to have someone come take it out, as I was too scared of the damage it could have done me.
