#Oxalis is pretty and the bees love it but what happened to my succulents? Here in #southerncalifornia this is highly #invasive. #oxalis-stricta #california #yellow 16 March 2019

They are in there somewhere Janice!😳🙄🤔💘😍

I will believe it when I see them again @ShelleySnyder 😉

@cyndi the tops do pull off well. 😎

So much for having removed all of this #invasive #Oxalis stricta from my succulent bed. It does look beautiful and the #bees love it, but 🤯. #oxalis-stricta #southerncalifornia #california #yellow 17 February 2019

These have pretty flowers but each seed will for clusters of 20 or so more seeds. The multiplication it creates if frustrating to the gardener.

Use to pick it out of lawn edges here and just eat it as a child. Very sour, yummy.🤗 @columbiariver

That is a lot of salad, Laura! When I was a child we had a different variety that we also used to chew for the sour. 😁 My son planted these to "feed the deer"; plant them and they will come. @columbiariver @purplebird

@lovestogarden & Laura I looked in my wild flower field guide and the kind I use to eat that was sour was O. stricta & O. european very similar, difference only direction of the stalks of the pods. 1st 1 has horizontal or downward bent pod stalks and the 2nd 1 erect or ascending pod stalks. Both yellow blooms. There are 2 other yellow ones but I haven't seen them in the yard since I started IDing wildflowers. (Not weeds, just growing where you don't want them) 🤗

So, when my oldest was very young, he brought home some 'deer food' to grow. Well, after about 15 years, this sour grass, a.k.a. Oxalis pes-caprae has spread all over my front yard (and still no deer). Anyone know how to rid a garden of this?

No! @Ashley74 Beware! These things are VERY invasive. They grow with a tiny bulb and if left to mature, then that one bulb turns into about twenty!

@lovestogarden, I'm glad you told me! lol
They are back.....😒 Yes, they are beautiful. No, I do not want them everywhere. I dug up hundreds of these, but not all. 💣 #invasive #oxalis-stricta #woodsorrel #yellow #sourgrass #southerncalifornia 14 November 2019
But but but they are so pretty 😕
I know, @Flicka, but SO invasive! 😂 A few are ok.
