Helianthus annuus 'Evening Sun'

First #sunflower to open also so far the shortest to grow. Ive lost 3 to slugs but have 3 others till growing 1 of wich is by the look of it going to be very tall.

First flower is finally opening. I had to.stand on the top of a lader to take the photo as its over 7 foot now. #sunflower

I grew these last year, they are fabulous but yes, they get very tall 🧡🤎💛

@pelly its got to the point i don't have a cane big enough to support it. It's about a foot taller than it. But strangly the second plant is smaller. They are very tall though and it dosent help im only just over 5 foot

So worth it though for the fabulous flowers 😍

Thanks @hkyfvr the seed was given away with the BBC gardeners World magazine. I only brought the magazine beacuse it was doing 2 for 1 entry ticket for lots of gardens open to the public.
