Love the look of a fresh top layer of compost too, after planting my first lot of summer seeds.

It certainly did rain a lot on Monday night. This was my #lawn on Tuesday morning despite all the aeration and top dressing it's had!

It's all dry now so the drainage must be working, it was just very heavy rain.

Thank you @clipperty That was mine this time last year. I've used weed and feed a few times but most recently spent a weekend providing aeration with my garden fork then put down some top soil and sharp sand. It's really smartened it up and is way cheaper than the gym 😂

Mostly, patches of yellow, moss and even the odd mushroom, which is what has prompted this drastic action. Just finished adding a top dressing of sharp sand mixed with soil and some grass seed. Still the back lawn to do tomorrow weather permitting. 😉
