Guys why is my #cactus falling over? He isn’t leaning towards the light, at first like I thought he was, but instead is more like really falling over in an almost noodle-like way? I can push him back up and he’ll stay for a few minutes but then slowly falls back down to this position. Please help. This is my favorite little spike and I don’t know what to do for him I’ve tried everything I know. 🥺😭#cactus-help #cactushelp #succulent-help #plant-help @SpicyCactus @Yollymac

@lovestogarden I hope not! I only water this one every other to every third week.

@lovestogarden I went away on vacation for ONE week and came back to a house full of struggling succulents and cacti. It’s like a plant monster came in and attacks my babes and idk what’s happening to them 😭

These types of Mammillaria do lean as they get older and bigger, and this one is pretty tall. Look up pictures of mature Mammillaria.

Is it squishy, or does it feel firm and healthy?

@SpicyCactus it’s feels a bit squishy. I can easily move it, so I wouldn’t really say firm at all.

Oh, man! I am so sorry. Not the welcome home you needed. Could the temperature or humidity in your home have messed with them? If so, correction can safe much. 💗

@SpicyCactus I stabbed my fingers trying to figure out if it was squishy - what does squishy mean?

5w
comment
madnessbroken

@lovestogarden Temperature and humidity are always pretty stable. Sucky, but stable.

Squishy can mean rot. Also it can mean dehydration. Is the point at which its leaning squishier than the rest?

madnessbroken

@SpicyCactus yes, pretty much right where the leaning is is where it is squishy.

Help, please! What are all these brown dried up things on my cactus? They are all around in a circle. Are the seeds? Unpollinated fruits? Flowers that never were? Ninja cactus darts? Help a girl out! #cactus-help #whatisthis #advice-cactus #succulent-help

My guess would be dried up flower buds

My cactus thorns collect quite a bit of wind-blown debris of plants near them. Although, if it does not look like anything around the cactus, I say Ninja cactus darts! 😂 🌟

@lovestogarden Nothing around like this to be wind blown. They all are kinda really in between her spikes, completely circled around the full body but only in that line. It’s weird I’ve never seen them before. I’ve had this spikey babe 3+ years. 🤔

Help me identify this plant! I’ve had these two the longest and I don’t know what they are! The cactus grows like crazy though! I would like to know in prep how big it’ll get since it’s only in a small bowl with two other succulents. I love them! They are what got me started with my little plants 🌱 3 years ago 💜

Hmm well the cactus looks a lot like a kind of mammillaria... Maybe mammillaria spinosissima?
