They are basically an annual @martyn. If you have a heated greenhouse you can take cuttings and overwinter them in there. I have taken cuttings off mine and just have to hope they survive in my cold greenhouse. They did last year but I was just lucky.
I over winter mine in the shed and water them about once a month. Come spring I prune them down to a crease in the stem where they're still green and maybe I've been lucky but mine always resprout after a feed, a bit of compost and some sunshine

Good question @martyn I would be interested in what anyone says. I leave mine where they are and luckily they reappear the next year x
Same here just leave them and see if they come back , depends on where you are I think

I do more or less the same as Justin and have rarely lost any but it is a brick shed 😊

Are you all down south I am in Rutland and I very rarely get and through the winter
