@lilybee Thank you so much Sue. She's at her prettiest now and the only one. I had several when I planted them, but just got the one now, for some reason 🤔💕💕

@anges Just a shame I didn't get more of them come back 🤔no idea why but today I wondered if, when we're watering our gardens that it might rot the bulbs in time. Possibly I think. ♥️

Oh that is lovely, I'm sure I read somewhere that the broken tulips don't last as long, due to the broken colouring being caused by a virus.🤔

@angiecrazycatlady What? Broken tulips broken colour? I don't think it's broken colouring. Only thing I've noticed is, I've got one, where there were several in this spot last year. 🤔♥️♥️

I really don't know, I saw a programme saying when a tulip isn't a solid colour its "broken" just a term they use for it I imagine, it was all about years ago when tulip bulbs sold for huge amounts of money, the "broken" tulips were highly prized, as they were so beautiful. It was a long time ago when I saw it so can't remember exactly what was said 🤔

@angiecrazycatlady This is how the colour is on the packet. No virus on it. There are many bi colour Tulips after all ♥️♥️

No I'm talking about 1550s when the first tulip bulbs came to Europe, all the rich people went mad for them, the most highly prized being the multi coloured ones, it's now known it was the mosaic virus known as "tulip breaking virus" that caused the break in the colour on the petals. Nowadays they are clever enough to get the colours without hurting the plants. But some tulips seem to last longer then others 😊 Google it, it's quite interesting how people lost their fortunes buying bulbs.
