One of my favourites, have been growing them for years, no greenfly, blackfly, red spider mite, whitefly, woolly aphid, that's my kind of plant! Driopteris felix mas, not sure about the spelling . Perhaps they could cross with a Tomato and save us a fortune on bugs sprays or encasia wasps.
Love watching ferns unfold in spring. Did you know, the young unfurling fronds are called crosiers? 🤓
Have you been swatting today Mike 🤓🤓
What a great pic!! 🖒👏
How can you tell males from females in Ferns ? @mikethegardener . Btw- love this pic!
If im not mistaken, its the males that have the spores underneath their leaves @totallygarden @mikethegardener
@totallygarden Hi Mariana. Good question. Have a read of this (http://www.fernwoodplantnursery.ca/2016/02/the-gender-of-ferns/) 😊
What a fab picture and I didn't know but I hope to remember 😂
