Regular growth rate has finally resumed on my poor geranium. Although I'd never wish any of my plants to become sunburned I'm kind of glad it did happen. It's allowed me to get a very detailed look at the growth patterns geraniums like to follow, which can be very useful information.
Once she has enough healthy foliage we'll slowly prune away the damaged leaves. She should look almost as good as new by fall.
Last week we got hit by a surprise heat wave followed mere hours by a massive thunder storm. All of my other plants bounced back within a day or two, but my poor geranium was so badly sunburned that I wasn't sure it would survive it. This morning, though, it finally started to show signs of greening up and new growth. What a testament to how tough these guys can be. It was even pummeled by rain that fell so hard it was literally deafening, and yet still it persists.
After over a month and a half of recovery and some intensive pruning my geranium is finally back in business (or rather, back in bloom).
