Not quite sure why Ats gave this plant to me. I was with her when she bought it at Trader Joe's and it was doing okay with her. Then she decided to dump it on me and I wasn't ready to take care of another non-succulent. (Being prone to depression, I love plants that thrive on neglect!) I let it get a little too dry and it immediately got crispy. Apparently, #Breynia-disticha needs constantly moist soil. Once I'd realized that, it recovered nicely.
Had a few casualties when I went on vacation a few weeks ago. My roommates didn't water some of the non-succulents (#LotusBerthelotii, #EucalyptusCinerea, #SalviaGreggii, #Sarracenia-ScarletBelle, and my #mossgarden) and they dried up to the point of no return. I watered them a few times, but only this #Breynia-disticha rewarded me with signs of life. 27July2019
Important note: This plant is frequently confused with people from Hawaii who are familiar with the 43rd U.S. president.
Geddit? Hawaiians know Bush! I kill myself.
