Happiness is creating a thriving #habitat for local wildlife. A few individuals representing different species of #dragonfly have become regulars in the backyard, especially after I made the #pond. This guy has pretty much claimed it, though. (He's always perched on the tip of the branch that is highest over the water.) One day, another red (but duller) dragonfly appeared. They flew around together for a bit before they linked up in midair.
After a few seconds, they uncoupled and the duller one (female) began flying to different spots by the water's surface, hovering then dipping the end of her tail in the water as she laid eggs. She repeated this many times, making sure that she did a thorough distribution. At one point, she started laying eggs in a nearby bucket, prompting me to shoo her away. She resumed laying eggs in the pond.
I hope her nymphs don't decimate my #mosquitofish. (Although I can always ask the county for more, which they provide for free.) #wildlifewednesday
What a beautiful photo!
Thank you, @laneygarden 🤓
There is a pond in my backyard and it greatly increases the opportunity to see wildlife. I love it so! Makes quarantine a little easier. Just a little though! 😄

Got this bunch of #kangkong at 99 Ranch (Asian grocery) the other day. I used the leaves in a delicious dish that also included cashews, onion, tofu, vegetarian stir fry sauce, sweet chili garlic oil, spicy sesame seed oil, and a few other ingredients. In less than a month, this bunch will be flourishing. Easy to grow and completely edible (yes, even the stems), I highly recommend this versatile vegetable. #gyo
I really should get around to harvesting some leaves and finding a good recipe for them. 21Oct020
If you have any basil, take a cup of each, with garlic & EVOO, add slivered almonds or pine nuts & ya gots you some mad #pesto
Nice! I have LOADS of #basil. I can do the same with my #MalabarSpinach and #moringa. Thanks, @fearlessthereforepowerful 🙂
Thank you @cyndi for the suggestion about Google I would never have thought of that
