Gardening is like cooking. To improve, you need to be willing to make mistakes and experiment. Also, common names are garbage. Zone 9b, West Sac, CA.

This big #MammillariaZeilmanniana queen mama and her clutch of identical pups reeks of imaginary hormones that make humans experience a sense of anticipation. Amazing to see how much growth this one has been through since I moved from the #SanFranciscoBayArea to #Sacramento. Another huge chunk from the pie chart that illustrates why I love Sacramento, even more so #WestSacramento, and want to make this my town. May I be able to afford it forever and ever, ramen.

It's that time of the year again. #CephalocereusSenilis (#oldmancactus) has yet to surprise me with flowers.

Help me identify this chubster, who is looking particularly freaky after this past winter. (That #pup, tho!) #succulent-id

Mammillaria are hard to ID, there are just so many in the family that look the same. Try and find a Mammillaria database with photos. I dont have that mamm myself but there are lots of enthusiasts for them around.
