I went into a small Mexican grocery store on a whim and found two of these terra cotta vessels. Since they're porous, water slowly escapes, providing the surrounding plants with a steady source of irrigation. To maximize the benefits, I'll bury at least two thirds of each one in the ground. Aside from providing a neat spot for my #waterlettuce, these pots are popular drinking stations for pollinating paper #wasps. 18June2020 #thaibasil #birdofparadise
This #ThaiBasil has thrived ever since I moved her to a raised bed, steadily increasing in volume and producing flowers nonstop. 29Oct2020 #pollinatorfriendly
