Gardening is like cooking. To improve, you need to be willing to make mistakes and experiment. Also, common names are garbage. Zone 9b, West Sac, CA.

This terra cotta #strawberrypot is constantly evolving. I've chosen #succulents (A) that prefer being drier than others, and (B) look good in their respective spots. It'll look better when the plants have all grown out more, but it isn't looking bad right now. 20June2019

Soon after acquiring this plant, I learned to not let it get too wet. Any parts that were moist for too long would rot. This is why I chose to place it at the top of this terra cotta strawberry pot, so any moisture would quickly wick away. (We've had quite a bit of rain lately, but so far it hasn't acted up.) When I water it, I just drench the surrounding soil, avoiding the crown. BTW, this plant also dislikes too much sunlight.

I killed one of these by watering it once in two months.

My condolences, @mauspad. Was it in a non-porous container?

Volunteered at the Ruth Bancroft Garden from 12:45 - 4 pm yesterday. The people there were very nice and I look forward to volunteering again. Used my 10% volunteer discount to buy this beautiful #senecioscaposus
