Just for you, @emch. ‘Corinne’ stars against a ‘Rooguchi’ sky 🌌

Wow! I saw them in the background in yesterday's photo and thought maybe it was some type of bluebell. I was very wrong, but they are oh so pretty.

I love the blue one. Unique flower shape and I love blue flowers.

What is the blue in the background?

@emch That’s clematis ‘Rooguchi’. I grow them together for contrast. The ‘Corinne’ blooms as little white stars in a violet-blue sky. 🌟 🎇 💙 🌃

There are nine flowers blooming on this vine: four pairs of smaller flowers and a big bloom at the top!

All settled in and blooming nicely as a replacement for my defoliated rambling rose 🥀 As companions I’ve transplanted a Rooguchi and a Diamantina clematis. Let’s see how they all get along on the shared trellis!

After the sawflies devoured my rambling rose, I replaced it with clematis and new soil. Apparently with a really bad infestation it’s best to start over!
