Tulipa humilis (Violacea Group) 'Black Base' syn. Tulipa humilis Black Centre, Tulipa humilis var. pulchella 'Violacea Black Base'

Species tulip companions, the white turkestanica and (probably) the raspberry-red hageri.

I’m now inclined to identify the red one as Tulipa humilis var. violacea (‘Black Base’).

This first tulip 🌷 of the year resembles Tulip hageri ‘Little Beauty’ but without the white edging on the dark center. It came in a “Turkish Tapestry” mix of species tulips. #help-id

Upon further research, I’m going to identify this species tulip (tentatively) as Tulipa humilis (T. pulchella) var. violacea ‘Black Base’. (Another candidate is T. kurdica.)
