Asparagus setaceus

Asparagus is starting to appear watch out for asparagus beetles

I won't have to worry as my asparagus is a no show 😞 yours looks great 👍

@titchyfra how old is yours ?

@monagle I think planted around late Spring last year and it did have a solitary thin spear grow but there no sign of anything .....

@titchyfra I thought that may be the case. They take a few years I think before you get a decent crop. I think it's like 3-4 years before they are actually good as the ones I have here are 4 years old and they are doing good now and last year were good

I see @monagle even though there's no sign of life - do you think I just need a bit more patience or should I put it down to experience

@titchyfra I would hold on they night he a little late as they are just starting to come out. When you have them let them grow as big as they can then when it'd end of season cut them down to a couple inches and do this for couple of years to get a good crop :)
