Here it comes! Happy days

2 years ago an abundance of buds. Last year 1 bud. This year no buds. 😢 Anyone have any ideas why?

😥I don't know Samantha but Cath of "Cath's Garden Plants" says the usual reason for no buds is that they have been mulched. Apparently peonies really don't like being mulched! They need to have their roots near the surface to flower. Hope that helps...

They need sunlight to stimulate buds and don't like being buried too deep either.

@awomanonabike @jonners73 @Diane76 I think I probably did mulch it last spring... I'll try and sort that out. Regarding sun, it's on the side of my garden that gets morning sun. Would it be better on the side that gets the afternoon sun? I don't really have anywhere it can go that's in sun all day.

Mine tends to be more in the afternoon sun (If that helps).

Full sun is ideal but many cope with a bit of shade. If you do decide to move it, wait until autumn. 👍🏻
