Lagunaria Patersonia

Help me identify this plant please. It has been planted by Bayside council in many of our streets and I'd like to know how big it gets etc. It's so beautiful when flowering - white, pink and purple flowers. Reminds me of a magnolia.

Norfolk Island hibiscus tree, is what I recall of name. But leaves have tiny little prickles I do remember and harlequin beetles loved it too @MTurner
