We've been given our first #staghorn or #elkhorn #fern as a house warming pressie 😍 but I'm struggling with where to hang it!! Not much shade here yet.. anyone know what time of day sun is it's preference? It's gonna be a hot weekend here 🥵 can they handle any direct sun?? 😲🤔 Or better to just hide it until heat passes? #help #advice 26.02.19
Also anyone know how to tell what type it is? Seems there are normal or giant ones?
Congrats on your first one!! Ok, from here it looks gigantic!! I'm guessing it's a large variety... mine is mounted on a 14"square of wood, so tiny in comparison!
@KariSamuel ooo thanks I thought it might be! I'll measure when I get back home hehe
They like lots of shade. No hot sun. Grow in rainforests.
Fell off the fence and totally neglected the past few months 😬 so finally got her back up in a new spot and determined to give her lots of TLC again! Still not 100 if sure elk or stag horn fern 🤪
I believe it is an #elkhornfern. Getting them back up after they fall is no small thing! 💪💪 She looks nice.
How’s she doing?
