This beauty is in my late mums garden n I'd really like to take a cutting. Anyone know what the best way to do that? Also does decorative bark keep the slugs at bay?

Best time to take dahlia cuttings is by softwood cuttings in the spring. You could lift the plant in autumn when foliage dies down, store in frost free place. The tuber may be divided and planted out mid to late april. Or you could start lifted tubers into growth in a cold greenhouse. From this you could take your softwood cuttings. Hope that helps 😊
