@poiuz no. There were 2 varieties at Costco and I bought both - 2 each for my house and my stepmom’s. However, only one survived at my stepmom’s. I have clay soil at my house and I might have not amended it well enough before putting them in the ground.

Sorry to hear that. It seems it has just been introduced in France from what I see (and no info on variety). I'm wondering if one alone will do well 🤔

@poiuz From what I know, sapote or mamey fruit is pretty prevalent in Mexican and South America. Our Asian version is the sapodilla which is scarce here in the States as well. However, we do have some growers in SoCal and Florida selling the trees. It’s not one of my favorites of all the exotic fruits because of the sticky sap that gets on my fingers when prepping it to eat. It is a tropical plant so France may not be the ideal climate. But I’m sure with the right care, you might be able to grow
