Thanks @justin and @carolecuttingitfine it's definitely lutea! Unfortunately I planted up the rest of the border with purples and whites so it will look a bit odd when the yellow flowers come out! Might have to mix some other yellow flowering plants into the border now.

Help me identify this plant - any ideas? It looses its leaves in winter and had started growing again, it's going to be massive whatever it is!
@njdeane Think it looks like a tree peony - grow rapidly and loose their leaves in the winter.
Think it's a verity of tree peony. Does it have yellow flowers? Could be the lutea
Search in the encyclopaedia for Paeonia Lutea and see if you think the leaves are the same 👍

@njdeane I like yellow and purple as a combo but yes add a bit more yellow so it looks designed and not an accident 😂
