Came to gardening late in life and now I’m really enjoying it. I’ve got a small veg patch and I’m looking for GYO tips.

My favorite basil plant from the supermarket before lockdown - for culinary use only 😆 so it wilted and most of the plant died one pathetic stem and leaf remaining. Pot in compost cover with plastic pint cup for several weeks in the green house and Bob’s your uncle! #plantrescue

@davidward by trial and error keep the seedlings or struggling basil plant covered with a plastic transparent cup and keep in a greenhouse or conservatory. The cup acts as a mini propagator - water around the cup once or twice a day if the soil is dry but leaving the cup in place over the plant rather than watering near the base of steam. If the plant starts to wilt put a small hole in your plastic cup for ventilation but keep it in place. When you inspect your plant you will see it develop.

The basil will start to produce more leaves as health improves you can leave the cup off during the day and back on at night. Then remove all together. I will put a photo up.
