9.26.18 Unguiculata update. I’ve taken several leaves to try and propagate but no luck yet. I’m gonna stop trying for now or else it will be bare soon. I saw someone successfully propagate via beheading, so I might try that in the spring because etiolation is inevitable at this point. #unguiculata

@mintheo yes. Idk if they will ship to Australia but look for Lazy Succulents on Amazon or just search echeveria unguiculata. They are South Korea based, have like $4 USD flat rate shipping for any sized order, and succulents that are pretty expensive here in the US for cheap cheap. Shipping said it would take 20 days but it only took 6 for me. Edit: I put one in my cart and put a random australia address and it said it would ship so?? I saw someone here had paid $80 ASD for one. Buy them all!

@ohhyouknow That's such an amazing price, but I'm guessing they'd get held in quarantine as soon as they hit Aus then whacked with fee. 😥

@mintheo Ah that's true! Aus has strict quarantine laws. D: I figured that through amazon they would be abiding by all that, but the box DID look pretty sketchy.. It is not as simple as a phytosanitary certificate right?

This plant is ridiculously beautiful Lauren! 💝 Unfortunately we can’t import here unless we hold an import license. Quarantine laws are very strict to protect our farming industries. That’s for live plant material, seeds have different rules. So I would definitely not be giving Australians any advice to buy live plants unless they go through the right channels as at best their plant can be confiscated and at worst the can be liable for heavy fines.

@mintheo there are a couple of people selling them on the east coast, but I don’t know about the west coast. You could possibly post on the page of Echeveria Australia and ask?

@Yollymac I've seen them for sale here in the West, but still $80 a pop. 😥

That’s ridiculous considering that they grow in Mexico and that’s not that far away. They must be very rare in cultivation. I can’t find any info on their conservation status online either. Weird.

@beckyescalator idk what's up with the prices. Some of them just cost soo much. They are sold as rare plants but I don't think they are $$$$ rare.
