Lapidaria Margaretae SB2174 @sushiwaitress I know these are not lithops, but they are sorta similar so I was wondering if you have any advice for me? These are my first mesemb seeds really. They look pretty full of water. Should I start withholding water a bit at this point? #succulents #seedlings
How long ago did you plant them? If they were lithops, I would keep them moist through the first leaf change (I misted mine morning and evening). For lithops the first leaf change happens around 4-5 months, but I have no experience with these guys. You could try asking on the British Cactus and Succulent Society's web forums or in facebook groups.
@sushiwaitress I checked and I planted them 44 days ago. Haha, feels longer than that. I talked to someone who has grown two of the cultivars of lapidaria that I am growing from seed as well, and he said to treat them as lithops. Spray 2-3 times a day until first leaf change. Do you spray your lithops while the first leaves are coming out? Thanks for the sources!
@ohhyouknow yes I do. It might be slightly overwatering, but none have died from it. (Yet)
