Good morning , Shona . We are going to need more information about your tulips to be able to find out what went wrong . Where did you buy the bulbs from? When and where did you plant the bulbs? Are they in full sun ?
@oicanalp Looks like one survivor against all the odds😃 a) supermarket b) probably too late last year c) yes full sun in border next to daffodils Happy Days 🌷
@sho47 I bought most of my unusual tulip bulbs ( 9 different varieties ) from Peter Nyssen last year. 4 went into pots and the other 5 went into a new border we opened up along the driveway. They have all done fantastic 😊
@sho47 . Best bulbs will provide the best results. Plant them about 6 inches deep as soon as it gets cold , with lots of added sand or grit . They like excellent drainage. Full sun is a must .
@sho47 They don't like heavy clay , at all. In such case you can still enjoy them in large pots . I plant the bulbs much closer ( about 2 inches apart) for the best display. I use Westland's Multipurpose Compost with added John Innes and still add lots of sand while planting. You can check all my tulips under my plantlist and add the ones you like to your wishlist 😊
All #maydaymayhem in one #tulip 😊
Gorgeous😃 Happy Days🌷🌷🌷
