Hi Charlotte, I'm sorry to hear of the dreaded slug problem. For my potted hostas I protect them by greasing the rim of the pot with Vaseline. This seems to be both effective and long-lasting. @charlotte

It gets eaten every year . But part of me thinks ok snails have the hosta but in return leave my veg alone. This deal seems to work !!!!
