Cornus controversa 'Variegata'

#advice This #weddingcake #cornus-controversa tree was fine in 2018 in #tulliehousegarden but last year several of the leading branches died off and there is some sort of #canker or #fungus on the under side of the branches. Does anybody have any experience. I am going to give it a good #compost mulch this spring to try and give it a boost. It would be a shame to lose it.

@oldwoodentop this is so pretty with the pink, green and white youmust try and save it. If it is canker rather than fungus all the canker should be cut out and maybe this is why the branches fell. If it’s a fungus you will need to treat it with the most appropriate thing for the type. If you belong to the RHS you can send them a photo to identify it and give you advice on how to treat.
