Help me identify this plant. It is growing on a steep bank and is in flower just now. #plantid

Hi Pat, I think it’s Winter Butterbur (Petasites fragrans) The flowers should have a vanilla scent 🤔

@awomanonabike many thanks. From elsewhere it has been narrowed down to Petasites. Perhaps Fragrans as you suggeat or pyrenaicus which is Coltsfoot.
