Catananche caerulea 'Major'

Morning everyone. I moved this #cupids-dart-major last year but I seem to have got it too close to the Peruvian Lily now 🙄💜 #catanache-caerulea-major

This did well in the heat which I'm pleased about 💜 #drought-tolerant but there have been some losses. My gaultheria and Cypress goldcrest plus one of my rose campions were all dead. It's onwards and upwards now #cupids-dart-major #catanache-caerulea-major

It’s going to be hard taking stock and coming to terms with the losses but it’s also a good lesson in terms of garden survival. 👍

I will definitely think long and hard about what I'll replace them with Barbara 👍 @jacaranda

Mine did well too Jane, they are all White even the ones that are supposed to be blue😂. I’m finding that as the days pass I am losing plants that I thought had made it! A complete change of summer growing next year for me.

I’ve lost a few more plants in the last few days too Jane , one of my borders looks positively bare 😬

It’s so disheartening isn’t it Julie but I think we’ve all learned a hard lesson. I don’t think I’ll loose any more now but one of the most noticeable things I’ve seen is the small size of the new dahlia flowers, they’re all much smaller than they should be. I’m sure that will remedy itself though 🤞 @juliesgarden

We no doubt will all stock up on drought tolerant plants in time for the wettest summer on record😄
