Rhododendron 'Indicum Inga'

Morning everyone. My poor azalea came in to bud very early and was caught by the sharp frosts we had a few weeks ago. I’ll still get a few flowers but not many 😢 #azalea-indica-inga

Morning everyone. For the first time since I’ve had this azalea it doesn’t appear to have any buds. It has often flowered very early but I don’t know what’s happened this year I can’t see any at all 🤔 #foliagefriday #azalea-indica-inga

@pelly. Yer mine as three little white roots at the moment so l think l might plant it in a pot the weekend to get some sun. I wouldent never have tried celery pelly if it wasent for you, l didn't have any luck with the lettest. Iv planted some potatoes peelings only about a week ago and they are sprouting through already. I can't believe how many potatoes l had the last time by just doing that, and they were new potatoes has well. They don't tell you that in the gardening books do they. 🤔🤔

It’s good to try new things isn’t it. I must say I’ve never tried that with potatoes though. I’ll have to give it a go. Thanks for the tip Gwen 👍 @gwenniemom

It’s still little but I had bad problems with rust so I had to cut nearly all the foliage off. Thankfully it’s looking very healthy again now @suerichards 👍👍

I only got it this spring and I had a few flowers, but it had a bad attack of rust and I thought I’d lost it, so I took all the affected bits of and kept my fingers crossed Shelley. It looks so healthy now @ShelleySnyder 💚💚

Azaleas can be a bit of a diva sometimes but if you can keep it going the standards are so very cool!💘😍

I’m delighted to see this looking healthy again as it got a nasty dose of rust. I took off all the affected leaves and sprayed it with Rose Clear and it’s done the trick 💚💚

It's amazing how fast plants recover and look beautiful again. I had rust all over my hollyhocks, so I sprayed them with Rose Clear and this year they're massive. I must remember to take a picture.

Morning Jane, with all these frosts it won't be a surprise if you find it drops a few buds. If it's in a pot is recommend you bubble wrap the pot or fleece the whole plant as I've done @pelly

It was from Lidls and it's label says it a standard, but I'm not sure if that's the way to go. Do you have any advice please? 🤔🤔 @mich

I didn’t get any info with mines Jane..mines is a small bushy plant just now but it was covered in blooms in the spring so it will make a lovely standard if your going to train it as one..I’ve just done just the usual acid soil and feed and it’s coming on slowly but surely 😘

Azalea grow best in 4.5 to 6.0 pH, well-drained, organic soils. Add composted Pine bark, peat, wood chips as much possible. Since they are shallow rooted plant the root ball higher.
