Our monster pachy is coming back fierce after its initial relocation and decapitation... 😁

#pachypodium #newgrowth

Did you try and propagate the cuttings?

Sure did @ausgardentags with mixed success.

So some did take?

Yeah @ausgardentags . Smaller failed, but larger have survived so far. One even flowered...

Our newest itty bitty freebie... Three trunks, not two(one hiding) ... ONLY a meagre 15 foot high.... Had to decapitate it at 7 foot mark to be able to transport it... 5 minutes to remove from ground.... 2.5hrs to load onto our Ute... Best score this year!

Sweet score

Wow! I can not imagine how heavy this was. It must be REALLY quite old. Great #freebie!! #pachypodium-lamerei #pachypodium #madagascar-palm

@lovestogarden It had to have been over half a tonne.... Even fell on me during the move.... I've never felt more like a pincushion in my life!!

Super bargain!! Is it quite shallow rooted?

#bargain

Yes @brightcolors root ball maybe 1 foot deep, 2 foot across.

Oh, my! A pincushion for sure. 😣 Puncture wounds hurt a whole bunch. 💪

@lovestogarden It was worth every drop of blood and sweat! 😂

I wouldnβt want to wrangle mine + itβs only a single trunk with multi branches at the top!! Moving yours was a massive feat!! 💪🏼
One of our smaller successful offcuts from the main plant. The only one out of all of them that has flowered.
@ausgardentags
Well done! And what does the regrowth on the original plant look like?
