Sedum spurium 'Chocolate Blob'

Can anyone help me understand why this is growing roots on the stem. This part was trailing over a planter. And how do I know ifnthis is Dragon Blood or Chocolate Blob? #zone5 #zone5b

They grow extra roots for support I think
