We inherited this clematis with the garden and it's coming into flower. Doing well after a good haircut in March but I still don't know which type it is - any ideas? #plantid #clematis #climber

@daisyrozanne Ah thankyou - I've been a bit confused by some of what I've read which suggested they only flower once a year, when this was also in flower when we moved in last Sept. It's going to be lovely!

Oh really? I thought they only flowered once a year too? Unless I'm maybe it had a good prune that gave it a second flush? It's gorgeous by the way ❤️

@daisyrozanne Well, it definitely looks very like the pics of Elizabeth I've now looked up thanks to your help, so I've linked it to that now. RHS site says 'occasional later flowers' so maybe that's what it was having later in the year!
