Czar runner bean are versatile. They can be eaten like any green bean, but if left to run to seed - they can be dried and used in soups & stews....as long as you remember to save enough to plant again next spring! Some Czar seeds are black, but most creamy white & almost as large as butter beans. Picture also has Borlotti and a few 'regular' runner beans, now drying.

I must try growing these next year. How long do you soak them for before putting in a stew 😀
