I have a traditional garden that I am slowly converting to succulents and cactus. I also have fruit trees, grapes and plant vegetables summer/winter.

This #streplocarpella was given to my by an internet friend that I have been in touch with for many years through our love for photography and love for plants. This cutting survived being shippied from NC to me in SoCal and is doing very well. It is not in our plant dictionary and when I have time to sketch out more details on care etc I will update the plant dictionary. It is supposed to bloom all year round with lovely blue flowers and is a hanging plant.

Unfortunately, there is no way for us to enter in, or update (even our own) encyclopedia entries. 😔 If you can find a link from Wikipedia or another plant site, post it here as a comment, tag @gardentagsplantsteam, they will eventually update the encyclopedia.

@kari thank you, I am recently new to the group so I didn’t know that. I see you posted a link, will that suffice for them to enter the required data?

Yes! It should work. It is also known as #capeprimrose, so they may integrate the 2 links together. Also it appears that you might have spelled it incorrectly? You have strepLOcarpella & it should be strepTOcarpella. They will sort it out for you! No worries, most people don't know that it can't be changed once entered. 😘

Thanks Kari for tag, and thanks Judith for starting a new entry 🙂👍🏼 - we’ve sorted the spelling for the moment. Streptocarpellas are a name given to a subsection within the Streptocarpus group of plants. Most are related to Streptocarpus saxorum and its varieties but there are others. We have a standard entry for this already but do you know the particular variety? The link provided by Kari refers to one called 'Concord Blue'. Shall we use that one or do you want to use the standard one?

It’s also called False African Violet or Dauphin Violet

The flowers are blue so I think the concord Blue would be the best choice for it. Thank you for the correction. @gardentagsplantsteam
