Early summer update: kaffir limes are starting to grow...

Left: kaffir lime double leaf. Right: some unknown single leaf I plucked from a shoot growing from below the graft point of my #kaffirlime tree. Wonder what it is...
Cut off anything growing below the graft.
@brightcolours yeah I thought I should but am so curious to see what grows out hahaha..
You may regret it as rootstock is usually more aggressive...
@brightcolours ohhh ok then. Tx for the advice. Will pluck it off!

Happy #kaffirlime is loving this warmer weather.
Lovely fresh growth!
These are the best ! Especially if you love to cook Asian or Thai food ! Yum 😍
@Muzz67 absolutely. I use them all the time. Favourite quick-hack is chopping a few leaves, adding it to sambal and smearing it on a fish, and then airfryer/bake. Yummmmsss

Happy little kaffir lime babies. Too bad I decided to pluck them off so that more leaves grow instead.. 😅😢#kaffirlime

I've been waiting since last summer - finally my #kaffirlime tree's bare mid drift is starting to fill out. 😂 In fact, lots of new leaves sprouting up all over. I'm super excited and picturing lots of tomyum and tomka this season. 🤣
I’d cut some of the top growth off so it fills out a bit in that middle section.
@brightcolours yep you read my mind! Planning to do that soon when I use the leaves for some tomyum hehehe
@brightcolours actually I was wondering if I should pinch off a few leaves.. Would they grow back more?
Yes, pinch the ends off (tip prune) all the branches to encourage more lateral (sideways) growth = more leaves.

OOPS I forgot to being my #kaffirlime tree in when the weather got colder and now the leaves are all yellow! Gah. It's indoors now. Hope it can recover... #cat #indoor #indoorplants

I cut off the top part of my Kaffir lime tree a few weeks ago because it wasn't bearing any new leaves or branches and I also want the tree to thicken up more at the base instead of being thin and skinny. Happy to see tiny new leaves sprouting. Grow baby grow! Hurry, before autumn actually gets cold. Lol. #kaffirlime
Oh yay!! #newgrowth
I'd remove the plastic tie and use a softer material to prevent any damage.

I often forget to fertilise my Kaffir lime plant. But when I do, new leaves pop up pretty quick. Love these baby leaves. They are so soft and fragrant. Tomyum anyone? :p #kaffirlime

Brainiest looking lime. My one and only lime this summer. My #kaffirlime plant has had it rough. Hope it does better next year after a bit of pruning..

Wonder how long more I should wait before plucking these babies. #kaffirlime
You can use the leaves anytime now.
